The exhibit Cina Techne – A taste of colours from China at Palazzo Dolfin Gabriele wants to be an occasion for the West to inspect the artisan dimension of the millennial Chinese art.
The exhibit Cina Techne shows the evolution of the concept of art itself in the millennial history of China. The Chinese art is based on the so-called téchne, a Greek term that means “know-how”, referring to a set of rules applied in order to accomplish some goals. This vision of art persists during the course of the centuries until the 19th Century, when a new concept of art and artwork was born, in parallel with the assertion of the artist in the modern sense. Nowadays China has a great heritage of artists that contribute to the enrichment of the International art scenario, combining the technical and artisan dimension and the tools of the technological innovation.
The purpose of the exhibition is to build a dialogue between China and Italy, putting the Italian and West audience and the know-how of the Chinese contemporary art in contact.
