Among the most beautiful architectural buildings you absolutely can’t miss the Ca’ d’Oro.
The Ca’ d’Oro is one of the most prestigious buildings of Venice: it is located in the sestiere of Cannaregio and it reflects directly in the Canal Grande waters. The title Ca’ d’Oro refers to the gold decoration on the façade, which is typical of the Venetian gothic style; today it’s missing. It was built by will of the Venetian Marino Contarini and then it was restored by the baron Giorgio Franchetti. In fact nowadays the Ca’ d’Oro is also know as Galleria Giorgio Franchetti. who in 1916 donated to the Italian State the building and its rich collection too.
Beyond the permanent collection of Franchetti it is possible to visit the exhibition Dysfunctional until November 24.
