Dysfunctional exhibition at the Franchetti Gallery
From 8 May to 24 November 2019 you cannot miss DYSFUNCTIONAL, a collectible art-design exhibition set up for the Venice Biennale at the Giorgio Franchetti Gallery at Ca ’d’Oro in Venice.
There are 21 artists of the Carpenters Workshop Gallery who are exhibiting their works during this prestigious event, which is proposed as a reference point for lovers of modern artistic heritage. During the visit, in fact, they will be able to admire their site-specific works, which are able to establish an indissoluble bond with the environment, overcoming the clear separation between art, architecture and design and thus creating a whole. Through their technique, the artists tell and express their inner emotionality that easily and immediately creates a dialogue with the architectural beauties of the Cà d’Oro, one of the most wonderful late-Gothic buildings in the city, with the prestigious collection inside and with the contemporary design. “Dysfunctional” wants to communicate dysfunction, seen as “the interruption of normal social relations”, inviting the visitor to reflect on the relationships normally established between “form and function, art and design, history and modernity”. Masterpieces such as the San Sebastiano by Andrea Mantegna, the Crucifixion by Jan van Eyck, the Portrait of Marcello Durazzodi Van Dyck, the Vedutedi Venezia by Francesco Guardi and Bernini’s sculptures were inspirational for artists, thus celebrating a surprising expressiveness and sensitivity.
The Dysfunctional exhibition is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture, history and essence of artistic Venice.
